Ben & Barb Dolman Family Update 2007
Ben and Barbara Dolman 2007 Annual Family Update:

Ben is currently working for Continuing Education at BYU doing Computer programming. He is beginning a Masters of Computer Science at BYU so we will be in Utah for a couple more years. He plays racquetball for enjoyment and exercise (good on ya!). He is the scoutmaster in our ward and is going to go camping in the snow this weekend! Brrrr!

Barb is enjoying running the Dolman household and running after a busy toddler and baby. She enjoys scrap booking & being creative & taking pictures in her spare time (ha!)

Josie is terrifically two! She loves to draw and color (& surprisingly hasn't colored on any of our walls yet~ knock on wood) She knows some sign language and enjoys reading books. When it is not freezing outside, she loves being outdoors. We started the potty training process, but are taking a break because it wasn't progressing. We will start again in a couple months.

Claire was born November 17, 2006 and is 2 months and such a cutie. It is a good thing too when she wakes Barb up at 3 AM. Most nights she sleeps from 11 PM-5:30 AM though! She loves cooing and smiling with you and loves her big sister Josie. We can't tell for sure, but we think her eyes might be turning green! (she might have some of Ben in her yet)

Love,
Ben, Barb, Jo, & Claire

Josie is going to be a big sister at the end of November! Yay, Josie is finally going to learn how to share! :) Ben is so excited to become a father again--so far it has been one of the best experiences of his life. If it is a another girl, we wont have to buy any clothes! When it comes to families...the more the merrier! To our newest family member: we love ya already!

Strawberry Harvest
Autumn dressed up as a Red Ripe Strawberry for Halloween. She didn't do a whole lot of trick 'r' treating, but she sure enjoyed all those kids coming to the door asking for candy! She also snuck into the candy bowl and managed to have her first sucker. After that, we gave away the lollipops as fast as we could! It was a fun Halloween for us all.

Dolman's Halloween

Glenn, Julie & Derek have a little different twist on the Wizard of Oz than we did. Derek was the lion, Glenn the scarecrow, & Julie was Dorothy. Well, over in Orem, Josie was Dorothy, Barb was the wicked witch, & Ben was the scarecrow. What does that say about Barb? I searched forever to find red ruby slippers for Josie & finally found them at Walmart! We had a great Halloween & we got to keep Josie's candy! She even kept her Dorothy wig on the whole time!

Love,
Dorothy, Witch, & Scarecrow

P.S. What were the other glenwood peeps for Halloween?
P.P.S. Don't you think the Lion & Little Dorothy should hook up? (see little lion Derek Roper below~ He is so cute!)

Halloween Pictures from Ropers
Hello Everyone,
I realize that is is almost Thanksgiving, but I wanted to send you a picture of Derek in his Halloween costume anyway. I am also including a birthday portrait so you can see what he looks like when he isn't in costume. My friend made Derek's costume, and we created a couple of hours of family fun in making ours. Derek wasn't sure about wearing the mane at first, but as soon as nice people started loading his bucket with candy, he started getting pretty enthusiastic about the whole trick-or-treat idea. Fortunately for us, Derek is still a bit young for candy, so Glenn and I divided up the loot after he went to bed. It was a really fun Halloween!
We're still doing well and enjoying life in Denver. The weather here has turned cold lately, which is sad for me, but gives me something to look forward to.....springtime! Glenn is loving his job. I am loving staying at home. Things are wonderful! I hope you all are doing well!
Love,
Julie

Glenn & Julie Roper
Glenn graduated a couple of weeks ago from the BYU Law School. Yay!! We are now living in Denver, Colorado for a year while he works with a Federal Judge. We're not sure where we will be or what we'll be doing after that, but for now we are enjoying our stay here. It is strange to be out of the college scene- no more summer or Christmas breaks for us! But, the steady income is nice!

Derek and I are having a great time here at home unpacking. Actually, I put stuff away while he follows me around and takes it all back out. But, we're both enjoying ourselves, so I guess that's what matters. He is sure a busy little boy! He doesn't have a very graceful crawl yet. It is more like wobbling from side to side until he gets where he wants to go. But, he gets better and faster at it every day! He is such a funny little guy. Glenn and I spend hours laughing at his messes and then cleaning them up. I also just planted a garden on our little deck, which I am very excited about. I faithfully water and watch to see if any of my little vegetables have sprouted. Derek enjoys helping me water my little garden. I love summer!

Well, there is the little update. I hope you all are doing well, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Love,
Julie
